ELIZABETHTOWN — The Comets completed an undefeated season with an 18-5 victory over the Thunder Tuesday in Bladen Recreation 11-12 softball action.

The Thunder struck first as Avalyn Tart, Juliana Autry and Rylie Dowless smacked 1st inning singles and scored runs for a 3-0 lead.

Angelina Jones, Tinsley Allen and Keri Faye Burgess drew walks in the Comets half of the the 1st, and Racquel Whittington, India Storms, Isabel Gardner and Kylee Spaulding belted singled. All of them scored except Spaulding as the Comets went up 6-3.

Chyna Smith and Autry drew walks and scored runs in the Thunder 2nd inning to slice the lead to 6-5.

In the bottom of the inning, Aubree Smith led off with a single, and Jones walked, before Racquel Whittington slammed a 3-run home run. Ayianna Whittington, Rylee White and Allen drew walks and scored runs as the lead grew to 12-5.

Burgess and Gardner laced singles and Spaulding walked to start the Comet 3rd inning. Ny’ashia Lyles cleared the bases with a grand slam home run. Smith and Alina Cathleen Vazquez drew walks and scored runs as the lead stretched to 18-5.

Racquel Whittington batted 2-for-2 with the 3-run homer. Gardner also finished 2-for-2 at the plate for the Comets. Lyles slugged the grand slam homer, and Storms, Spaulding, Smith and Burgess added 1 hit each.

Tart, Adams and Dowless connected for 1 hit each for the Thunder
