The North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services made recommendations for large gatherings on March 10, 2020. After the announcement by NCDHHS, the decision to postpone the Bladen We Care Gala has been made, according to Mr. Mac Campbell, Jr., spokesperson for the organization.

The 31st annual Bladen, We Care Gala, was scheduled to be held Friday, March 27, at Cape Fear Vineyard. The new date for the gala is yet to be determined. Organizers are hoping to reschedule the event for a time this fall.

Those who have purchased tickets may hold them for the postponed date, or present them for a full refund.

Those wishing to redeem tickets should call 862-8423, ext. 232 or 250.

Bladen We Care assists more than 200 families in need in Bladen County each year for over 30 years and has raised $2.5 million, according to board member Mr. Mac Campbell. The group has also awarded scholarships at Bladen Community College and UNC-Pembroke.

No announcement has been made at this time about the annual golf tournament fundraiser for the local non-profit.
