Bladenboro is located in the southwestern corner of Bladen County. Strategically placed a short drive from some of the best beaches, lakes and ports on the southeastern seaboard. American Flags are flying high this week as a patriotic symbol running through the heart of the small town in honor of our nation’s birthday.

The small town in USA was incorporated in 1903 and houses a population of 1750 per the 2010 US Census, according to their website. The community residents and businesses were hit hard by hurricanes, but they are not letting the storms keep them down.

Town officials have been working on an Economic Development Plan to assist the beloved town. Small businesses are staying strong and pushing on with a smile.

Dove’s BBQ has been busy with patrons lining up for what they say is some of the best BBQ around. Lollie’s on Main and other shops offer a variety of merchandise on sale this holiday week. Salons in the area have been busy pampering those on vacation. Local farmers have been selling fresh produce at the local Farmer’s Market on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Everyone is invited to take a stroll through the town this week and is reminded to shop local!
