IMG_0753 (1)The Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce met on Tuesday for their luncheon meeting and learned about exciting things that are happening at Healthworks Fitness and Wellness from owner Ashley Trivette.

Before the program got under way, Chamber President Charlotte Smith welcomed new Chamber members Kuraray, The Vapor Shack, and noted the return of H and R Block as a member.

Smith also presented the body with a resolution of support for the Connect NC bond, which will appear on the March primary ballot. Later in the meeting, the group voted in support of the resolution.

Those gathered enthusiastically welcomed Trivette. She told the group that as she was preparing her presentation she thought about what to say to the members that has not already said or shared with to friends, family members and Healthworks members.

Trivet said one thing she wanted to stress was that it is very important to have the support of the local businesses.

“Being in a rural area we really do rely on local support,” said Trivette.

Trivette spoke about the staff at Healthworks and highlighted their areas of expertise.

She began by telling the group that Healthworks has internships for both high school and college students. Trivette spoke about current intern Jaylan, who is a senior at West Bladen High School. She noted that he has a  passion for working with senior citizens.

“Senior citizens make up a large majority of our membership,” said Trivette.

Mary Caitlin Clark-Campbell is one of several personal trainers/instructors at the gym.

Trivet said that things Campbell has incorporated into her clients’ work outs, she also uses in her own personal workout routines.

Trivette said that Trainer Zachary Smith works more with the athletes and students who come to the gym.

Shae Ra Nici is the most experienced and knowledgeable or the trainers/instructors, according to Trivette. Trivette said Nici uses a holistic approach to nutrition and fitness.

Ashley Benton Davis has returned to Healthworks, said Trivette.

“We are so proud and so glad to have her back,” said Trivette.

She told the group that there is a bend class which is blend of disciplines including Yoga that is taught by Dawan.

Trivette said a nursery is available for those that need it. She said that members should call ahead to let the staff know you will need the nursery.

The gym also offers tanning beds and spray tanning; Saturday classes; a smoothie bar; and protein bars.

The pool is also open. Trivette said the gym also offers an indoor hot tub and indoor steam room which are included in your monthly membership rate.

Folks can rent the pool for birthday parties.

New equipment has been installed including new cardio machines.

Trivette said the facility can host parties and events whether it is for churches or birthday parties

She added that the Healthworks staff is planning an upcoming race with information to be made available soon.
