A co-owner of a popular White Lake business has been indicted by a Bladen County Grand Jury with multiple sex offenses following a complaint from a parent about a child being improperly touched while working at the business.
Phillip William Goodwin, 45, of Winterville, surrendered to authorities Tuesday evening and was charged with indecent liberties with child and two counts of sexual battery. Goodwin was released after posting a $5,000 secure bond.
The White Lake Police Department received a complaint from a parent August 11, 2015 about the alleged incidents occurring at the business and involving young girls. The White Lake police conducted an investigation and presented their findings to a Bladen County Grand Jury on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016. The indecent liberties allegation includes “improper touching” of the victims.
