WASHINGTON – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) released the following statement after the Department of Justice announced indictments against 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities for interfering with the 2016 U.S. presidential election:
“Today’s indictments reiterate what President Trump and I have been saying all along. While we have known for some time that Russia meddled with our election, their efforts had no impact on the results and there was no coordination nor collusion with the Trump campaign,” said Congressman Pittenger. “Now that the Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy, regurgitated ad nauseam by the mainstream media, has been proven false, I hope the media and the Democrats will finally focus their efforts on following the facts and addressing the actual national security threat posed by Russia.”
