Update: Meredith DuBose on behalf of Bladen Disaster Recovery Team (BDRT), a local non-profit, in partnership with DreamWorks said, “Due to the generous donations and funding we have received, the BDRT and DreamWorks will be able to continue supplying food to those in need. We had a deadline, but that has been extended.”

DuBose explained, “So now anyone in need of food and impacted by COVID can apply now.”

The Bladen Disaster Recovery Team (BDRT), a local non-profit, in partnership with DreamWorks will be working to help provide food for children of Bladen County for the week of Spring Break.

“So no child goes hungry, we will try to provide a bag of groceries to families in need that qualify,” Meredith DuBose with Bladen Disaster Recovery Team stated.

To access and complete an application, visit https://www.bladendisasterrecoveryteam.org/ or the BDRT Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/BladenDisasterRecoveryTeam/.

DuBose added, “If you do not have access to the internet you can call the helpline at 910-651-8344. After applications are reviewed we will reach out to let families know if they have been approved.”

She continued, “We cannot guarantee all homes will be approved as several factors will be considered to determine our ability to help.”
