POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: Heavy Equipment Operator
DEPARTMENT: Solid Waste
SALARY: GRADE 20 A ($26,658.00)
STATUS: REGULAR, FULL TIME
DESCRIPTION: Primarily operate a tandem axle roll off container truck, and may operate a front loader refuse truck, requiring a Class B CDL license. May occasionally operate the following: tracked excavator, front-end loader, dump truck, farm tractor, and various equipment assigned. Must be able to follow assigned routes of pick up and clean around sites as prescribed. Assist in preventive maintenance on vehicles and periodic servicing. Wash vehicles and equipment to ensure proper operation and servicing. Cross-training is essential on all equipment and vehicles. Ensure that waste material brought to site is unloaded at the proper locations. Perform other duties as assigned or as needed for an effective operation of the Solid Waste Program according to the state rules and as a County employee. Clean and perform needed maintenance of County collection and disposal sites.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma. Must have prior experience in skills listed in job description. Must have a minimum of one year experience.
