Spread the love

On Saturday, November 27th at 6 pm, the community is invited to join the Dublin Peanut Festival Committee as they host their annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Dublin. This is a free, family-friendly event, and everyone is welcomed.

Since announcing the annual event, the DPF Committee has had some new ideas that they are excited to share. After meeting last night, the committee decided they would like to host a food drive at the tree lighting. Non-perishable food items will be collected to be donated. Additionally, those in attendance will have an opportunity to bring their own ornaments to add to the tree. Christy Dowless with the DPF Committee said, “Maybe they have something in memory of a loved one, or just want to put something on the tree for their kids or family.”

Dowless added, “Our goal is to have a community Christmas tree, and everyone can have a part in bringing the community together.”

As announced before, There will be refreshments, Christmas carols, and an opportunity for photos with Santa! Additionally, local churches and members of the community will sing Christmas carols to top it all off.

The Dublin Peanut Festival committee is excited and hoping for a great turnout. The Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at Dublin Town Office —  7386 Albert Street, Dublin.
