TABOR CITY – Elizabethtown pounded out 26 hits Friday night and defeated Lumberton 18-8 in the opening round of the Diamond Youth Baseball District 2 AA (Coach Pitch) Supplemental Tournament.
Elizabethtown advances to play Whiteville Saturday at 11 a.m. A victory would send Elizabethtown into a 2 p.m. game against Bladen County.
For Elizabethtown Camden Wooten batted 2-for-4 with a run scored; Tyler Allen batted 3-for-3 with a run score; Ryder Butler batted 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and 2 runs scored; Kaison Tatum added a single; Atlantis Ripley batted 2-for-3 with a home run and 2 runs scored.
Also for Elizabethtown: Jameson Tatum batted 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 3 runs scored; Bryson Lee batted 2-for-3 with a run scored; Caysin Dorsett batted 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored; Myles Owens singled and scored a run; Weston Price doubled and scored a run; Camden Klass batted 3-for-3 with a home run and 3 runs scored; M. J. Bullock batted 3-for-3 with a home run and 2 runs scored.
Elizabethtown scored the limit of 7 runs in both the 2nd and 3rd innings.
