TABOR CITY – Whiteville built a 15-0 lead then held off a furious Bladen County rally to claim a 15-11 victory Saturday in an elimination game in the Diamond Youth Baseball District 2 AA (Coach Pitch) Tournament.
For Bladen County: Jackson Davis batted 3-for-3 with a run scored; BB Christian singled, scored a run and had 2 runs batted in; Reid Butler singled; Boyce Allen batted 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored; Lawson Walters batted 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored.
Also for Bladen: Major Bostic batted 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored; Greyson Babson batted 2-for-3 with a run scored; Noah Taylor batted 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored; Cooper White batted 3-for-3 with a run scored; Julian Bryant had 1 RBI; Cedarius Ballard singled and had 1 RBI: Lucas Crilley singled and scored a run.
