LUMBERTON – Billy Fowler’s triple highlighted a 7-run 3rd inning that pulled Elizabethtown into a 12-12 tie, but Lumberton answered with a 9-1 surge to claim a 22-14 victory Saturday in the Diamond Youth Baseball District 9 AA (Coach Pitch) Tournament.
Elizabethtown will play West Robeson White in an elimination game Sunday at 2 p.m. on Field 1 at Lumberton’s Raymond Pennington Athletic Complex. With a victory Elizabethtown would advance to a 5 p.m. game Sunday.
For Elizabethtown: Javie Jackson singled; Landon Brown singled and scored a run; Eli Rutland batted 2-for-3 with a triple and 2 runs scored; Jackson Johnson singled and scored a run; Miles Bernhardt batted 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored; Kohen Smeigh batted 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
