High school playoff football will be back in Elizabethtown tomorrow night, November 3rd, 2023, on Highway 87. Your East Bladen Eagles look to defend their home field, as the Eagles will host the 3-7 North Edgecombe Warriors at Fisher Stadium. The Eagles are looking to regroup after last week’s loss against the Whiteville Wolfpack. Anybody who has played with Eagles wins on their helmet knows that Head Coach Robbie Priest will always have his team ready and excited to take the field Friday night. No player on either side wants their season to end, so expect a hard-fought match.
In order to win, East will need to give the ball to their playmakers and let them impose their will early and often. One of these playmakers is senior running back Mason Brooks. Brooks has been on a rampage this entire season , averaging 159 yards rushing per game, and has scored 27 total touchdowns.
Along with Brooks junior Na’Toren Corbett has also been impressive this year. Corbett is averaging 5.8 yards a carry and 4 touchdowns himself. The two have formed a great 1-2 punch this season that will need to be on their A- game if the Eagles want to advance to the second round.
