One-stop voting — or early voting as it’s often referred — opens Thursday at five Bladen County sites, according to the N.C. Board of Elections. Polls will be open each day through Nov. 5.

One-stop voting hours are 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays

Sites are:

• Bladen County Board of Elections office, 301 S. Cypress St., Elizabethtown.

• Old Spaulding-Monroe School, 508 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Bladenboro.

• Dublin Town Hall, 7386 Albert St.

• East Arcadia Town Hall, 1472 East Arcadia Dr., Riegelwood

• Tar Heel Municipal Building, 14867 N.C. 87 West

Registered voters may cast a ballot at any of the one-stop voting sites through Nov. 5. Registered voters are required to cast a ballot at their assigned polling place on election day, which is Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Voters will be selecting candidates for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, several judgeships, Bladen Sheriff’s Office, Bladen Board of Education and a handful of other Bladen County offices.

Among the more closely watched local races is for sheriff where incumbent Jim McVicker faces Hakeem Brown in a rematch from 2018. In the Clerk of Superior Court race, Cristin Hursey and Althea Dixon Weaver are vying to replace Niki Dennis, who is retiring.
