Elizabethtown, October 6, 2023 – The Elizabethtown Foxglove Garden Club painted a vibrant picture on Friday as they hosted the much-anticipated 2023 Katie Greene Memorial Mum Sale in Elizabethtown, NC.
Co-President Jane Priest expressed her delight, sharing that the event saw an impressive turnout with more than 400 mums finding new homes. The colorful array of chrysanthemums not only added a touch of autumn to the community but also served as a heartfelt tribute to the late Katie Greene.
During the sale, Co-President Billie Hall took the opportunity to guide enthusiasts on the proper care of their new floral companions. Hall advised, “Before planting the mum, soak them in a bucket of water thoroughly. This ensures you won’t need to water them every day.”
Club member, Niki Dennis, concurred, “The mums like being soaked in water better than being watered everyday.”
The success of the event was not only a testament to the community’s love for gardening but also a demonstration of collective support. The Elizabethtown Foxglove Garden Club expressed deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the 2023 Katie Greene Memorial Mum Sale.
A special note of appreciation was extended to the Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy cadets and staff members for their assistance in unloading the flowers earlier in the day. Their efforts added to the seamless execution of the event, making it a memorable day for both gardening enthusiasts and supporters of the annual Katie Greene Memorial Mum Sale.
