The Town of Elizabethtown Town Council met virtually Monday evening to conduct Town business. Mr. Bryon Scott, CPA, with Thompson, Price, Scott, Adams & Company, P.A., presented the Audit for FY ending 6/30/2021. Council approved the audit as presented.

With there being several vacancies on the Airport Board, Town Manager Dane Rideout presented some ideas on the composition of the Board. Current members include Fred Tate, Dr. Justin DeGarmo, Mac Campbell, David Clark, Chad DeVane, Ashley Dowless, and Reynold Hester. Robin Summerlin was appointed to fill one of the vacancies.

In other administrative matters Council approved a request from the Manager to attend the 2022 ICMA Regional Conference; approved the Unpaid Tax Report and authorize the Tax Collector to advertise the Unpaid Taxes; and approved the Monthly Financial Report.

A Professional Services Contract was proposed by W.K. Dickson & Co., Inc. to provide the service of updating the Airport Master Plan for the Curtis L. Brown, Jr. Field. The total fee for all anticipated work and expenses is $330,819. Funding: 90% Federal and 10% Local.

Another service contract was presented for engineering services from Helios Energy, LLC. The Town may from time-to-time request Helios to perform certain engineering, project management and related technical services. Helios will perform these services as an independent contractor thereby using experienced personnel competent to perform the assigned tasks.

Both contracts were approved as presented.

The Director of Communications and Marketing, Terri Dennison, updated the Council on upcoming events and activities of the Chamber. The Annual Meeting for the Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for 5:30 PM, March 10 at Lu Mil Winery. Award Winners were chosen from nominations by members and will be notified in February. The initial committee meeting was held for the 44th Annual White Lake Water Festival to be held on May 20 and 21. Rivermist and Pink Slips bands have been contracted for entertainment on Saturday night. The 250th Anniversary (Quarter Millennium) of Elizabethtown committee held an Initial meeting on January 27.

A Special Called Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 8 at 5 p.m. at the Airport Terminal Building.
