The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning from 3 a.m. until 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 for Bladen County and surrounding areas.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees are expected, according to the latest forecast.

Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing, the National Weather Service says.

It advises for people to take steps to protect tender plants from the cold.

The freeze warning also is in effect for Robeson, Columbus, inland Pender, inland New Hanover and inland Brunswick counties in North Carolina along with several counties in northeast South Carolina.
