It’s that time of year again when the air is filled with joy and excitement as the holiday season approaches. And what better way to celebrate than with a heartwarming Christmas show that promises to enchant audiences of all ages? The Carolina Civic Center proudly presents the 12th annual Robeson County Christmas Show, an original production directed by the talented Kendrix Singletary, the theater’s resident artist.

This holiday musical revue has become a cherished tradition for families in the region, and this year’s show promises to be the best yet! Featuring a talented local cast of singers and dancers, along with special appearances by beloved characters like Elsa, The Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, and Santa Claus himself, the stage is set for an unforgettable experience.

Calling All Talented Performers

The Carolina Civic Center is looking for outstanding performers to bring this magical production to life. If you have a passion for the stage, love the holiday season, and want to be part of a fantastic show, then this is the opportunity for you!

Dancers and Civettes Wanted

For this year’s production, the show introduces The Civettes, a group of seven female dancers who will add an extra sparkle to the performance. If you have dancing skills and a desire to be part of this fabulous group, don’t miss the audition on August 13 at 3 pm. Come prepared to learn a dance combination and showcase your moves. Remember to wear appropriate dance attire and shoes for the audition.

Calling All Young Stars

The show also seeks eight kids with mature, effervescent, and spirited personalities who can sing, dance, and take direction well. Kids between the ages of talented 8 to 14 years old are encouraged to audition on August 12 at 11 am. Prepare a Christmas song that highlights your vocal abilities, and be ready to learn a dance combination. YouTube or karaoke tracks are preferred for accompaniment, and please ensure you have the proper plug-in adapters for your music source. A cappella performance will not be accepted.

Mark Your Calendars

The audition for both groups will be held at the Carolina Civic Center, located at 315 N. Chestnut Street, Lumberton, NC. This historic venue has been the backdrop for numerous outstanding performances and is the perfect place to showcase your talent.

Rehearsals and Show Dates

If selected, rehearsals will commence in late August, and the show dates are scheduled for December 7-11 and 15-16. Additionally, there will be school show dates on November 20-21, allowing young performers to showcase their talent to their peers.
