Tar Heel won the penalty kick shoot-out to claim a Bladen Five Middle School Conference girls soccer victory over Elizabethtown Thursday at County Park.
Josefina Toboada Torres drilled in a first half goal for Tar Heel on a penalty kick after a handball was called on the Lady Cougars. Karla Dimas-Lopez scored a second-half goal for the Lady Panthers.
Kenia Medina scored both of the Elizabethtown goals in regulation that ended with the score tied 2-2.
Toboada Torres, Eva Martinez and Dimas Lopez fired in goals for the Lady Panthers in the shoot-out.
Coach Chris Wagoner’s Lady Panthers improved to 1-2 with the victory. Elizabethtown is also 1-2.
