If you were not in Elizabethtown to watch the production, “He Cheated! Why Me?”, you missed an entertaining romantic comedy. The crowd laughed a lot and was reminded of some valuable lessons about relationships.

Deborah Jones traveled from Columbus County to see the show. She said, “I really liked it. It was worth the drive.” Tracie Robinson, from Tar Heel hopes that LoWanda Davis Productions will bring another play back to Bladen County. “I liked the set and scenery. The singing was great. No one seemed nervous. I will come to another show if they have one.” Robinson explained.
LoWanda “Dee” Davis, an Elizabethtown native, producer and writer of the play, has many more fans after this entertaining show. VIP seating was sold out before the doors opened Saturday. People poured in Elizabethtown Middle School to enjoy an evening of theater.

Palmer Williams Jr. from Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne” show hosted the event. The pre-show and intermission was performed by the Genesis group. The group performed a skillful mime show and provided a worshipful dance.
The talented cast had powerful players. Euclid Gray, a gifted singer and well known actor played a loyal partner, belting out a heartfelt song. Elizabethtown local author, and liaison, Marjorie Lewis was the therapist assisting the characters with their relationships. The character, Aunt Shug, played by Stephanie Newkirk kept the audience in stitches with her funny antics.
Many agree with Mayor Campbell when she said, “We need more events like this here in Elizabethtown and Bladen County. I want to give LoWanda a huge shout out for having this here because it takes a lot of blood sweat and tears to pull this off. We really appreciate it.” Davis does not currently have another production scheduled. However, she is currently writing her 4th production.
