The Bladen County Board of Commissioners have scheduled a public hearing to receive comment regarding a proposal to name four bridges to be named in memory of Sheriff’s Office officers who have died in the line of duty.

The meeting is scheduled Monday at 6:30 p.m. inside the Commissioners’ Room located on the lower level of the Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown.

The bridges to be named and the officers in the proposal are:

• NC 87 Overpass at US 701 for Deputy Sheriff James B. Collins.

• NC 410 at Crawley Swamp for Depty Sheriff Dewayne C. Hester

• US 701 at Turnbull Creek for Officer James A. Smith

• US 701 at Brown’s Creek for Deputy Sheriff Roger Stocks.
