Staff report

The Bladen County Board of Elections has announced a temporary change in the voting location for the Colly precinct for the upcoming second primary on May 14, 2024. The temporary resolution, adhering to North Carolina General Statute 163-128, which allows the board to modify polling places as deemed necessary, has been approved and will be in effect for this election.

Traditionally, the Colly precinct voters have cast their ballots at the White Lake Fire Department, located at 1861 White Lake Dr, Elizabethtown, NC 28337. However, for the second primary election day on May 14, 2024, voting will occur at the White Lake Water Rescue Building at 612 NC Hwy 53 E, White Lake, NC. This move is temporary, and the voting site will revert to the original White Lake Fire Department location for all subsequent elections.

The Bladen County Board of Elections assures voters that this change is within the precinct boundary lines and that all requirements of North Carolina General Statute 163 will be fully adhered to, ensuring the integrity and accessibility of the voting process during this temporary adjustment.

The resolution was signed and made effective by the Chairman of the Board, Lafayette Atkinson, on April 9, 2024. Voters of the Colly precinct are encouraged to take note of this temporary change. They are welcome to contact the Bladen County Board of Elections for any further information or clarification regarding the temporary precinct move for the second primary.
