ELIZABETHTOWN – Bladen County is now home to a newly established pregnancy center known as the Mercy House Pregnancy Resource Center. This week, the team members of this center were officially introduced.

Megan Knight, the director of The Mercy House, conceived the idea and presented it to the Bladen Baptist Association last year. Now, this non-profit organization is fully operational, supported by a dedicated team.

In addition to Knight, the team at Mercy House consists of Tracy Smith, a passionate volunteer, Pansy Druzak, another dedicated volunteer, and June Boyd, a valuable volunteer.

This non-profit’s primary purpose is to assist single and married parents who find themselves facing the unexpected arrival of a child. Whether they require guidance in raising their child or seek advice on navigating the challenges of newborn care, the Mercy House Pregnancy Resource Center provides solace and education, ensuring a comfortable and informed parenting journey.

This pregnancy center extends its support to parents of all ages, catering to anyone in need of assistance. The center offers informative classes that empower parents with essential knowledge on child-rearing.

Furthermore, they welcome monetary contributions as well as donations of gently used or new baby supplies, along with new diapers and wipes.

Walk-ins are welcome on Tuesdays between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., while scheduled appointments can be made on Wednesdays from noon to 3 p.m. To schedule an appointment, interested individuals can reach out by calling (910) 247-6303 or emailing themercyhouseprc@gmail.com. The center is located at 509 S. Cypress Street in Elizabethtown. For more information, visit their website at https://www.bladenbaptists.com/The-Mercy-House.htm.
