Elwell Ferry, the cable-operated ferry that crosses the Cape Fear River and connects N.C. 87 and N.C. 53, is closed and expected to reopen on Friday, July 14, the N.C. Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.
The ferry connects Carvers Creek and Kelly. It’s located at 2700 Elwell Ferry Road.
Other road-related announcements for Bladen County include:
• US 701N: All traffic has been routed to the new bridge crossing the Cape Fear River in Elizabethtown. The closure has a Wide Load Traffic Restriction.
