ST PAULS –St. Pauls snapped a 1-1 tie with a pair of 2nd half goals and defeated West Bladen 3-1 Wednesday in Southeastern Athletic Conference junior varsity boys’ soccer action.
Freshman Cristian Rodriguez Gonzalez knocked in the Knight goal in the 1st half off an assist from Luis Garcia-Sanchez. Irving Mentado-Ortiz and Jennsen Santana Martinez also had shots on goal for West Bladen.
Rodriguez Gonzalez sparked the Knight defense with 4 steals, and sophomore Kevin Rojas-Rojas followed with 3 steals. Freshman Noah German had 6 saves in goal for West Bladen.
The jayvee Knights, now 1-5-1 in the SAC-6 and 3-10-2 overall, will host Red Springs Wednesday in their season finale.
