After two successful spring tournaments where Bladen’s professional golfer Kayla Thompson made the cut and won money, she ventured to Garden City, Kansas to play in the Dream First Bank Charity Classic and failed to make the cut.
The cut for 36 holes for the Epson Tour event was +2 and Thompson shot 76-76=152, which was +6.
The winner of the tournament was Kathleen Scavo, who shot 66-71-67=204, which was -12 for the three day event.
Thompson lives in Clarkton and is a graduate of West Bladen High School and UNC Wilmington.
