The community of Kelly gathered Saturday at the Ball Park for the Annual Kelly Spring Fest.

The Kelly Volunteer Fire Department heads up this community gathering every year and has done this since 1985. This year the event included a parade, a car show, food and craft vendors as well as bounce houses for all the children of the community to enjoy.

The Fire Department cooks up BBQ and the proceeds support the Fire Department in maintaining equipment and their annual running budget. The Chief, Kenneth Thornton, has lived in Kelly for 50 years. Many of the members have lived in Kelly all of their lives and feel honored to serve the communities of surrounding areas from Singletary Lake to Rowan and their own community of Kelly.

The Volunteer Fire Department has 28 firemen on their roster and all members actively work the festival each year.
