If you have not had a chance to make it out to the annual Labor Day Sidewalk Sale, there is still time. The Sidewalk Sale will be wrapping up on Monday.

Merchants reported sales were strong and rain on Saturday morning did not dampen the spirits of those shopping. Bargain hunters were seen checking sizes and searching for the perfect color to take home.

When asked what brought them to the sale, Emily Bernhardt said, “We actually come to White Lake every Labor Day.” She added her family enjoys the sidewalk sale.

Myra and Lin Thornton were traveling to the beach when they decided to stop. “We always have to stop here,” said Thornton.

The sidewalk sale is an annual tradition in Bladen County and signals the end of the summer season.
