Rain clouds hovered, but the show went on this past Thursday, August 24th. The last Summer Sounds Concert featuring the¬† Blackwater Rhythm & Blues band was held at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market.

Attendance was estimated to be around 600 folks at the free concert presented by the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

Dawn Maynard with the Chamber said, “The businesses and the town are really supporting the concerts. I’m already starting to plan next year’s band line up.”

Members from surrounding counties said this year’s concerts in Bladen County was the best line up in the southeast according to Maynard.

The Summer Concert Series in Elizabethtown and the Summer Jams concerts at White Lake are supported and in the works for next year Maynard reported.
