On Saturday, November 6th, members of the Clarkton Lions Club, along with their friends and families, will walk in their Seventh Annual Strides: Lions for Diabetes Awareness event. COVID-19 rules are strongly encouraged for the walk this year, according to the event hosts.
Registration for the walk will begin at 8:30 am and the 5K (three mile) walk will begin at 9:00 am. A registration fee of $15 will get you an event t-shirt. Registration without a t-shirt is only $5. Walk at your leisure throughout a quiet neighborhood. This is an enjoyable way for the community to join together in the fight against diabetes. All proceeds from this walk will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Lions all over the world organize Strides events in their communities to heighten the awareness of diabetes and its complications, and to provide information on preventing and managing the disease. These events promote regular, healthy exercise and include participants of all ages.
