Bladen County, NC – Leon Grimes, with NC Works and Veteran Services, is proud to announce a series of Memorial Day weekend events in Bladen County dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who have served our nation.

Event Details:

Friday: Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy (4:00pm – 4:45pm) Join us at Paul R. Brown for a solemn ceremony honoring our fallen heroes. The event will take place from 4:00pm to 4:45pm, offering an opportunity for reflection and remembrance. Event will be held at 1360 M.L.K. Drive in Elizabethtown, NC.

Saturday: Poppy Drive –Walmart/Tractor Supply at W. Broad Street in Elizabethtown (9:00am – until) On Saturday, join us for our Poppy Drive at Walmart and Tractor Supply. Starting at 9:00am and continuing until the day’s end, volunteers will be distributing poppies to commemorate the sacrifices of our servicemen and women. Please note: This event is on Saturday, NOT Monday.

Monday: Clarkton Parade (10:00am at Clarkton Town Hall) The highlight of our Memorial Day weekend events will be the Clarkton Parade on Monday morning.
