Tar Heel native Michael Inman pitched six scoreless innings as Methodist University ran its’ winning streak to 15 consecutive games with a 10-1 victory over Piedmont University Saturday in Demorest, GA.
Inman allowed only 2 hits and pitched around five walks, while striking out one. The West Bladen grad raised his record to 3-1 on the season.
Inman had picked up his second victory of the season on March 29 when he worked four scoreless innings of relief in a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Maryville College.
The 6-2 senior righthander scattered 4 hits, struck out 2, and walked none against Maryville. His teammates rallied with 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth to claim that victory.
Inman has lowered his earned run average to 2.70 for the season and has struck out 15 batters in his 30 innings of work. Opponents are only hitting .204 against him.
