Tray Ballard and Shy’Ron Adams combined for 43 points to lead Bladenboro to a 62-35 Bladen Five Middle School Conference boys basketball victory over visiting East Arcadia Tuesday.
Ballard blistered the nets with 27 points to lead all scorers, while Adams fired in 16 points. Teammate Da’Shawn Hines followed with 7 points, and Austin Smith added 6 points.
Charles Dixon and Kasey Price shared scoring honors for East Arcadia with 9 points each. Teammate Luis Castellanos followed with 6 points, and Sterling Thomas tallied 5 points.
Ballard drilled in a 3-point shot and powered in a trio of baskets for 9 first period points. Adams threw in a trio of field goals in the quarter as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 22-6 lead. Hines also bombed in a 3-pointer in the period.
Ballard buried a pair of 3-point shots in the second quarter and racked up 10 points in the period as the Bladenboro lead grew to 36-20 at halftime. Price rang up 5 points for the Panthers in the quarter, and Dixon added a pair of baskets.
Logan West nailed a 3-point shot for the Bulldogs in the third quarter, and Adams drove for a trio of baskets that widened the gap to 50-26 at the quarter break.
Ballard connected for three more baskets in the fourth quarter.
