A road closings update in Bladen County from the North Carolina Department of Transportation as of August 29, 2022, has been released. NCDOT still gives no date on when the Elwell Ferry will reopen.
CLOSED:
SR1003 – Twisted Hickory Road closed to replace crossline.
Starting August 29, 2022 8:00 a.m. – September 2, 2022 5:00 pm road will be closed near Page Road (SR1166)
US Highway 701N
The both lanes of the North Bound US Highway 701 over the Cape Fear River is closed. Traffic will be rerouted to the Southbound lanes. The closure has a WIDE LOAD TRAFFIC RESTRICTION.
