Attention Bladen County motorists! The North Carolina Department of Transportation has closed Elwell Ferry Road. Please take note of the following important updates from the North Carolina Department of Transportation:
US Highway 701N:
All traffic has now been redirected to the new bridge. Please be advised that a WIDE LOAD TRAFFIC RESTRICTION is in effect. Exercise caution and follow posted signage accordingly.
Elwell Ferry Closure:
The Elwell Ferry will be temporarily closed for preventative maintenance on May 6, 2024, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Plan your travel accordingly and consider alternate routes during this time. NCDOT plans to re-open the ferry at 6:30 am, on May 8, 2024.
