GREENSBORO – West Bladen senior Trinity VanEyken finished 8th in the 110-meter women’s hurdles Friday in the NCHSAA Class 2A State Track & Field Championships at the Marcus T. Johnson Track & Field Center at North Carolina A. & T. University.
Burlington Cummings sophomore D’Anna Cotton won the hurdles with a time of 14.78 seconds. VanEyken posted a time of 16.25 seconds.
West Bladen senior Deyon McDonald qualified for the state championships in the men’s 110-meter hurdles but finished 15th in the preliminary race with a time of 16.45 seconds and did not reach the men’s finals. East Burke senior Kenneth Byrd won the hurdles with a time of 14.53 seconds.
