BURLINGTON – East Bladen’s senior doubles team of Jackson Bostic & Will Hester defeated the Whiteville senior duo of Zander Burton & Bryce Kronenwetter 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 Tuesday in the consolation match of the NCHSAA Class 2A Men’s Tennis Mid East Regional at Bill Cooke Park.
Bostic & Hester dropped their semi-final match 6-0, 6-1 to Carrboro’s Wicol & Miyagauk, but bounced back to win the consolation match that determined the 3rd place team in the regional.
Bostic & Hester had already qualified for the Class 2A State Tournament at the Cary Tennis Park by reaching the regional semi-finals. State tournament play begins Friday morning.
