CHAPEL HILL – In a Monday morning meeting the North Carolina High School Athletic Association extended the high school football regular season by one week untilNovember 9th. Volleyball and men’s soccer play-off schedules were also altered.

Seeding for the football play-offs will take place on November 10th with first round games being played on Nov. 16th.  Play-offs will continue with games every week with the state championship games being played on Dec. 14-15.

Volleyball teams affected by the hurricane will be allowed to play up to five matches per week up until Oct. 20th. However daily limitations on amount of play remain unchanged.

The seeding for the volleyball play-offs was pushed back from Oct. 18th to Oct. 22th. First round matches will be played on Oct. 23rd. The state championship matches will be played on Nov. 3rd.

Seeding for men’s soccer was pushed back from Oct. 29th until Oct. 31st. First round play-off games will be played on Nov. 3rd. State championships will be played on Nov. 17th.

There were no changes to the women’s tennis championships schedule and only a 6-hour change to the reporting deadline for cross country.
