There was an air of excitement on a brisk Wednesday afternoon as town staff and fire fighters gathered to watch as a new apparatus arrived.

The department officially accepted delivery of a new 2015 E-One pumper which will replace a 1987 Pierce pumper.

The new truck has the capacity to transport six firefighters in the gear including the driver in an enclosed cab.

Town Clerk Brenda Clark said that the purchase of the new truck helped the town to resolve a two issues — safety a issue because the 1987 truck was an open cab truck and maintenance issues.

Chief Dale Brennan said that the purchase of the truck was made possible through a grant from the Office of the Sate Fire Marshall in the amount of $30,000 and the remainder of funds came from town funds and the White Lake Fire District tax.
