New commissioners take Oath of Office in Bladenboro

Bladenboro Town Council held their monthly meeting on Monday, December 9 at Town Hall.  The meeting opened with special prayer and the pledge of allegiance to the United States Flag.
Bladen County Clerk of Superior, Niki S. Dennis administered the Oath of Office to the duly elected Bladenboro commissioners. One incumbent, Sarah Jane Benson, along with newly elected John Bowen and Stephanie Thurman took the oath of office.
Town commissioners approved the ordinance amendment to Chapter 93-Fire Safety of Bladenboro Code of Ordinance by adding new Section 93.09-Exception to prohibition on outdoor fires.
The second consideration on the agenda was approved by the commissioners. The amendment to Title XI, Business Regulations, of the Bladenboro Code of Ordination, by adding a new Chapter 112- Malt Beverage and Wine.
Rodney Hester was elected to serve as Mayor Pro-Tem before the meeting adjourned.
