The Key Clubs from both East Bladen and West Bladen are kicking off a can food drive and are launching a new member’s drive. Please help spread the word.

Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership. If you are a high school student at East Bladen High School or West Bladen High School and would like to join the Key Club, please email kiwanisbladen@gmail.com to RSVP for the next virtual meeting.

The Key Club meeting for both East Bladen and West Bladen Key Clubs will be held online via Zoom on Wednesday, November 4 at 2 p.m. Both schools will meet together to discuss the current can food drive. In the past, both high schools have participated in the Kiwanis Can Food Drive to help stock local pantries with food for the holidays.

This year, instead of the two schools working in competition against each other in the can food drive, they are working together.

Students are asked to bring can food to school for the can food drive during the whole month of November. A blue and purple box will be located at each school for the collection. Pop-top can foods, (spaghetti, ravioli, soups), mac and cheese, instant grits, oatmeal, pop-tarts, juice boxes, breakfast bars, can fruit, peanut butter crackers, and other food items are desired for the drive.

The food will be distributed to local food pantries. For more information email Dr. Lisa Bryan at  kiwanisbladen@gmail.com.
