Long time president of The Bladen County Training School-Bladen Central High School (BCTS-BCHS) Alumni Association, Dorothy McKoy, relinquished her title at the Annual Awards Banquet on September 9, 2023 at The Paul R. Brown Building. After a three year interruption due to the Pandemic the group resumed their tradition with the 39th Annual Banquet this year.

The Keynote speaker was Mr. Hakeem Brown, former candidate for Sheriff of Bladen County. He spoke on the theme “We are better together.” He was awarded a plaque for being Keynote speaker. Colonel John C. Bordeaux and Jean Gore were also presented awards for Service and Support of the Alumni.

Four thousand dollars in scholarships were awarded. Two in honor of Dr. Paul R. Brown; two from Judge Vinston Rozier Jr. and four in honor of Mr. Ottis Graham. The group was entertained by Rev. Ronald Highsmith and The Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy’s Drill team. The meal was provided by Ms. Johnice Autry and decorations by Mr. Maurice Williams of Whimsical Flowers & Gifts.

Newly elected officers of the Alumni are: Rev. Vinston Rozier Sr.,

President;

Ms. Patricia Faulk, Vice President; Ms. Minnie Price, Secretary; Ms. Delores Wade, Treasurer and Rev. Roland T. McKoy, III Chaplain. Ms Dorothy McKoy will serve as advisor.
