The curtain has revealed a new look in Elizabethtown on Highway 701. A health and rehabilitation facility, formally known as Poplar Heights, has a new look and is now Bladen East Health and Rehab.
Steadfast staff member, Bridget Ezzell said, “I am beyond excited about the new changes. Our new floors are going to look great!”
Ezzell commented on how the residents and the public are expressing their appreciation for the changes as well. The renovations plans include fresh paint, installing new hand rails, new flooring, new furniture, and renovations of the restrooms.
Zachary Miller’s company, Hedgehog Healthcare Associates, began leasing the facility on June 1. According to Miller other changes to assist in quality care will be the rehabilitation program, and housekeeping services will both be offered in-house.
He also said the dining experience will also improve as will the therapy program. Activities such as the nail salon, Bingo, and an Internet system where the residents can sit and listen to music, will be offered.
Miller said the majority of the Genesis staff were retained but there were a couple of staff members who were not hired and some staff members chose not to stay. Miller said he is seeking to hire CNAs, RNs, and LPNs. Those wishing to apply may apply in person at Bladen East Health and Rehab which is located at 804 S. Poplar Street, Elizabethtown.
