One non profit is helping the Bladenboro Police Department with their annual Christmas for Kids program. The Bladenboro Police Department has been collecting donations for the annual Christmas for Kids program since mid November.

This week a check from Boost the ‘Boro Inc. in the amount of $500.00 was presented to Bladenboro Chief Will Howell by Ashley Norris and Johnny Anderson with the Boost the ‘Boro Christmas Giving Committee.

Lt. Rouse said, “One of the most important things that occurs during the year is to be able to take the kids shopping, being able to make sure they have Christmas.”

Anyone wishing to make a donation may take the donations to the Bladenboro Police Department or to Bladenboro Town Hall.

The teachers at Bladenboro Primary School will select up to 25 students to participate in the Christmas for Kids program. The officers make sure the children have a warm coat, socks, shoes, clothing, personal hygiene and toiletry products.

Once the shopping trip is completed, the students are then treated to lunch at the Pizza Palace.

The Southeastern Cruisers Car Club also supplies bicycles for the students.

“I can’t think of anything better to do during Christmas, than to be able to make sure children have Christmas,” said Lt. Rouse.

If you are unable to drop off your donation in person, you can mail it to Bladenboro Police Department, Christmas for Kids, P.O. Box 455, Bladenboro, NC 28320. The Bladenboro Town Hall is located at 411 Ivey Street, Bladenboro and the Bladenboro Police Department is located at 306 South Main Street, Bladenboro.
