Bladenboro Police Officer Daniel Lee was awarded the North Carolina Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate at the Bladenboro Town Council meeting on Monday evening. The North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission Professional Certificate Program recognizes and rewards officers such as Lee for going above and beyond the minimum required.
According to Bladenboro Police Chief William Howell, the certificate is given to those who continually strive to better themselves professionally by attending higher education classes and training sessions, which is significantly more than what is currently mandated by North Carolina.
