Contributed open letter from the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce

Dear Merchants and Restaurants,

The Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is planning an expanded promotion for this Holiday Season, called the Warm Southern Christmas. While the kick-off events will take place over the weekend after Thanksgiving; we have created a few that will bring people to our area, stores and restaurants throughout the period leading up to Christmas. We are playing a large print, digital and radio campaign to support this effort.

We are asking our local merchants and restaurants if they would like participate in several ways:

On Friday evening (Nov. 27), are you willing to stay open a little later to accommodate people after the Christmas Tree Lighting?
Also on Friday, do you want to participate in the Storefront decorating Contest. Bladen Online is providing a promotional package as the top prize?
Do you want to be part of the Elf Scavenger Hunt? You will get a 2’ tall elf to display somewhere at your business. Visitors will get a scorecard with at least 10 businesses listed ( depends on participants). They then will have to visit at least 7 or more of the stores to enter into a raffle for a giant stocking. The Hunt will begin on Friday, Nov. 27 and continue until Dec. 19. The only thing you need to provide is an item for the big stocking.
Can you provide a gift certificate for the winners of the Christmas Grove Decorating Contest?

We are also asking that every business require masks and promote social distancing to protect yourself, your employees and patrons.
