Tonight, NCAA crowns the men’s basketball champion and it will be….either Texas Tech or Virginia.  The game will be televised on CBS, tip-off at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis at 9:20 PM.

Ladies championship goes to Baylor 82-81 winner over Notre Dame.

Most of the match-ups have been great.

It’s Monday and spring time in Bladen.  Farmers in the field planting crops.

Will be interesting to see if recent gains in the stock market continues.  The first 3 months of this new year has seen Dow Jones industrial averages rise from 23,328 on January 1, 2019 to 26,425 on Friday.  Does wonders for 401 & 457 and other similar type retirement accounts.

I think of what normal was as a teenager, as a newly wed in the 20 age group, the working years, later retirement and old age for those of us fortunate to have survived it all.  For many, it’s one doctor appointment after another.  But through it all, good times…..just normal.

This week, I will have the honor of spending some time with folks I worked with for nearly 25 years. Guess it seldom crossed my mind that one day we would will all go our separate ways.  Most live in the Raleigh area, one in Chatham County and one in Bladen (me).  We get together occasionally and reminiscence about, mostly the good times, to check up on family, health, etc., hopefully, more good than bad, like who has a new grandchild or great-grand…or taken a neat trip some place recently.

You learn a lot more when you’re going through a rough period compared to the good times when everything goes your way.

There are going to be good times and bad times, but lighten up.   Chris Pine
