NFL regular season coming to a close, playoff action begins in about 3 weeks.

2019 Super Bowl will be played February 3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, home of the Falcons.  The game will be telecast on CBS.

Weather for today expected to be sunny with a high in the mid 60s, west to northwest winds in the 7 to 9 mph range.

Bladen County Commissioners meet at 6:30 PM today, in the courthouse.  Meeting open to all.

Remember how excited you were as a youngster a week or so before Christmas?  It was difficult to keep my mind on school.  I always had high expectations.  Santa had a difficult time at our house.  6 expecting and 2 working to provide.  Still wonderful memories.

As I grow older, my ‘wish list’ shortens….Time with family is good enough for me.  I am thankful for another Christmas season.  Thinking of many of my friends who have lost family members recently.  I am among men most richly blessed.

Numerous church cantatas were held last night.  Good music, good attendance at Wesley’s Chapel UMC.  Would expect the same for many in the area.

Property taxes were due in September, 2018.  Penalty will be added in early January, 2019….lest we forget.

Our numbers for BladenOnline are inconclusive, incomplete, whatever for last week, due to some technical issues, mostly because of updates on the site.  What I can share is, we are about 100,000 page views from reaching 7 million for the year. Bigger and better is the best way to describe BladenOnline.  Thanks for your continued support since February 1, 2008.

Our intent will not be to create gridlock.  Oh, except maybe from time to time.  Sen. Bob Dole, on working with the Clinton Administration.

I don’t know whether it’s the finest public housing in America or the crown jewel of the federal prison system.  Bill Clinton, on life in the White House.

All that Hubert needs over there is a gal to answer the phone and a pencil with an eraser on it.  Lyndon Johnson on Hubert Humphrey, his vice president.
