One Bladen County playwright is seeking sponsorships to help with upcoming projects.
LoWanda Davis said she is seeking sponsors to help with purchasing microphones and covering the costs of filming her first three plays to be recorded to DVD.
Davis is in the process of writing her fourth play but would like to see her first three plays on DVD.
Her first play was called One Step Makes a difference. “It is about a lady who does not attend church,” said Davis.
She said that when the lady does decide to take the first step to begin attending church, her life begins to change in positive ways.
Davis’s second play is called “Why Me?” Davis said it deals with what happens to someone when they are robbed.
She said it involves the same lead character form the first play but this time she is the victim of a robbery and the play deals with the consequences she suffers.
The third play is called “He Cheated, Why Me?” The subject of the play is dealing with men who cheat on their wives and talks about the results of cheating, said Davis.
The play Davis is currently writing is called “Why Me 2” and deals with drug abuse.
Davis said those wishing to sponsor her productions will receive copies of the DVD, tickets to an upcoming production, their names included in the productions, all depending on their level of sponsorship.
