The power went out in Elizabethtown at almost exactly 3 pm today. Some say it sounded like a bomb went off. A huge flash of explosion came from a power line at the corner of Poplar Street and Mercer Mill Road. The linemen working on the power line seemed uninjured by the burst, and are continuing to work hard at the task at hand.
The intersections are being directed by the Elizabethtown Police Department. When we called Duke Power Company they said more than 1750 people are currently are without power. The power should be restored by 4:45 pm. A huge thank going out to all those working to keep us safe and correct this issue.
